MiniZed wifi not connecting

Hi all,

Having trouble getting the MiniZed wifi to connect to anything. I've flashed the eMMC with stock image, and adjusted the wpa_supplicant at location..
/run/media/mmcblk1p1/wpa_supplicant
After doing this, I nativate to..
/usr/local/bin
Then I run the wifi.sh script at the above location. All I'm getting is 'Sending Discover', which repeats infinitely.
The ssid and psk entered into wpa_supplicant are both 100% correct, and the format of the document is the same as specified in the MiniZed getting started guide.
Any help would be appriciated!

Cheers,
Chris.

Hi Josh,

Hi Josh,
My wpa_supplicant currents reads as follows, the  " " marks are included in the actual document.

ctrl_interface=/var/run/wpa_supplicant
ctrl_interface_group=0
update_config=1

network={

key_mgmt=WPA-PSK
ssid="SomeAccessPoint"
psk="password"

}

Cheers,
Chris.

MiniZed WiFi

Hello Chris,
Could you show some logs to help with diagnosing this?  After reset, to show what you are running, enter
cat /proc/version
Then please show the commands you enter and the results .
Thank you,
Stefan

Hi Chris,

Hi Chris,

What are you using as your Wifi? Can you try using your Phone as  hotspot to the device?

I've managed to sort out this

I've managed to sort out this problem for now.
I'm not longer using the wifi.sh script and bypassing wpa_supplicant. I'm now bringing up the wlan0 interface myself and using the command 'iw dev wlan0 connect' to make a connection to AP.

Thanks for the replies,
Chris.

wlan0 interface

Hello Chris,
It is great that your problem is resolved.  It woulkd be useful if you could please post the exact commands you are using instead of using the commands in wifi.sh.  Others who find this forum post and have the same issue that you were experiencing would value the detail.
Thank you,
Stefan

stefanrousseau, Good call.

stefanrousseau, Good call.
This is the small script I used to connect to an access point over wifi.

#Wifi startup script

#Bring up wlan0

ifconfig wlan0 up

#First initialize wlan0 and connect to AP

iw dev wlan0 connect -w ssidOfNetworkGoesHere!

#Now start UDHCPC client side

udhcpc -i wlan0

Cheers,

Chris.
