UltraZed ssupport for larger FPGAs?

Hi,
I am interested in a UltraZed product with support for the XCZU9EG.  Are there any plans to support the larger variants of the Zynq Ultrascale? Currently, it looks like only the 2EG and 3EG parts are supported.
Thank you.

Hello dwallis,

Hello dwallis,

We are not planning on offering a 9EG SOM. Later this year, when the UltraZed-EV SOM is released, it will support up to 7EG device (pin compatible with the 7EV device).

Hello Josh,

Hello Josh,
Will this new SOM with a 7EG be pin to pin compatible with the actual UltraZed SOM? Or will I have to redesign my custom carrier board?
Thank you, Christophe

Hi Sonictai,

Hi Sonictai,

If your question is, can you take the 7EG part and put it into the UltraZed Som, then the answer is no. Please refer to the Device Migration table located in this document.

Josh,

Josh,
No that wasn't my question! I know devices aren't compatible, but I was wondering if Ultrazed 3EG SOM and Ultrazed 3EG SO will be compatible! The 7EG package is bigger but with some good PCB layout skills it should fit in the SOM format, no?
Thanks, Christophe

Hello Sonictai,

Hello Sonictai,

Unfortunatly no, the two SOMs will not be pin compatible. The device is a 7EV and the number of IO count available is larger. Also, we will be supporting GTH transceivers. The current UltraZed-EG pinout and connectors are insufficient for this device family.

Thank you Josh for these nice

Thank you Josh for these nice news!
I saw that there is a DDR bank connected to the PL, which may be fine for image buffering!
So now I just have to wait for technical information to upgrade my custom design!!

Standard speed grade is -1,

Standard speed grade is -1, although with an MOQ, you can get any speed grade that you want.

Production silicon is used.

Order entry should be happening by end of January with first shipment in Q1.

The standard SOM has the 7EV, and as you can see in the posted Product Brief, the 1-piece price is $999. Volume pricing is also available upon request from your local Avnet representatives. We don't have pricing on the 4EV, 5EV, 4EG, 5EG, or 7EG versions -- all of which require an MOQ. Again, you can request pricing and lead-time from your local Avnet representative.
