ZedBoard Zynq-7000 All Programmable SoC Electrical Motor Drive
Fast prototyping of Xilinx Zynq-7000 based high-precision, low EMI and low acoustic noise motor control supporting Avnet FMC-MC1-G Motor Control FMC Module (http://www.em.avnet.com/en-us/design/drc/Pages/Motor-Control-FMC-Module....) implementing 18 intellectual property cores for FOC (Field Oriented Control), SFOC (Sensorless Field Oriented Control), speed and positioning loops, data-logging, spectrum analysis, and enabling Industrial Ethernet, all in the same platform.
QDESYS IP cores on Xilinx Zynq-7000 enable a scalable, cost effective motor control for multiple motors while still maintaining flexibility through re-programmability.
The system supports BLDC, PMSM and Stepper Motors all driven in FOC or SFOC.
Zynq-7000 Gigabit Ethernet port and “C” source code software executing on the ARM® dual-core Cortex™-A9 MPCore™ processing system are provided with the QDESY IP to implement a UDP/IP real-time intelligent agent for RPC (Remote Procedure Call) interfaced to:
(1) LabVIEW dedicated Graphical User Interface base on NI Measurement Studio (www.ni.com/mstudio).
(2) DLL interface linkable to major programs like C, C#, and any programming language supporting DLLs.
(3) COM (Common Object Model) library able to interface to VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) and also Excel, or any suite supporting COM.
(4) Scilab-5.4.0(64-bit) Hardware in the loop - with more than 400 functions available to the user, and possibility to manage the motor control. Scilab (www.scilab.org) is free open source software for numerical computation providing a powerful computing environment for engineering and scientific applications.
(5) XML database for motor parameters and control configurations. The motors suite comes with 20 preset motors for FOC and SFOC.
The IP and the development suite can be used to design also Power Control systems like Power Quality Analyzer, Inverters, etc.
The IPs support also the innovative RPFM power modulation for low EMI and reduced acoustic noise (http://www.edn.com/design/sensors/4399154/FPGA-high-efficiency--low-nois... ).
Applications targeting Industrial Networked Drives with (EtherCAT, PowerLink, Sercos-III) might benefit of using QDESYS NETMOT V.2 (http://www.qdesys.com/netmot-v2.php) supporting dual channel 10/100/1000 Ethernet PHY connected to the Zynq-7000 fabric for deterministic networking.
